Totley All Saints Primary School was inspected by Ofsted on 24 February 2026. We are delighted that the inspection confirmed the school is delivering a strong standard of education across all areas, reflecting our commitment to nurturing happy, confident and highly achieving pupils.

Summary of findings:

Achievement- Strong

Pupils at Totley All Saints achieve consistently high outcomes, including pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) and disadvantaged pupils.

Pupils make rapid progress across the curriculum
Attainment by the end of Key Stage 2 is above national averages
Phonics outcomes in Year 1 are consistently higher than average
Pupils develop strong foundations in reading, writing and mathematics
Work in books is of a consistently high quality, with pupils recalling learning confidently and in detail
By the time children leave our school, they are extremely well prepared for the next stage of their education.

Curriculum and Teaching- Strong
Inspectors highlighted that our curriculum is carefully sequenced, ambitious and inclusive.

Teaching is highly effective and well supported by high‑quality training
Lessons build securely on prior learning
Work is expertly adapted to meet individual needs, particularly for pupils with SEND
Phonics is taught effectively, leading to confident, enthusiastic readers
A strong focus on vocabulary and oracy develops articulate, confident speakers
Teachers quickly identify and address misconceptions, ensuring pupils progress securely.

Early Years Foundation Stage- Strong
The Early Years provision was recognised as a strong feature of the school.

Children make rapid progress due to a well‑sequenced curriculum
Language and vocabulary development is prioritised through high‑quality interaction
Reading is embedded through daily stories, songs and phonics
Children quickly become independent, confident learners
Strong partnerships with parents ensure smooth transitions into Year 1

Behaviour, Attendance and Attitudes- Strong
Pupils’ behaviour and attitudes were judged to be a strong standard.

Attendance is consistently high and well above national averages
Persistent absence is very low
Pupils behave exceptionally well and show pride in their work
Bullying is extremely rare and dealt with swiftly when it occurs
Pupils are motivated, engaged and enthusiastic learners
The school’s culture promotes kindness, respect and high expectations for all

Inclusion and SEND- Strong
Inclusion sits at the heart of life at Totley All Saints.

Pupils who need additional support are identified quickly
Provision for pupils with SEND is carefully monitored and highly effective
Specialist support and interventions reduce barriers to learning successfully
Parents and pupils are fully involved in support planning
Disadvantaged pupils achieve very well and take part fully in school life

Personal Development and Wellbeing- Strong
Inspectors recognised the school’s exceptionally strong provision for personal development.

A well‑structured PSHE curriculum supports wellbeing, relationships and safety
Pupils have a strong understanding of online safety and digital responsibility
Opportunities for leadership, charity work and community involvement are extensive
Pupils benefit from cultural, artistic and sporting experiences
British values such as equality, respect and tolerance are deeply embedded
Pupils are encouraged to be compassionate, responsible citizens with high aspirations.

Leadership and Governance- Strong

Leadership and governance were judged to be highly effective.

Leaders have an accurate understanding of school performance
School improvement is based on thoughtful self‑evaluation
Governors and trustees fulfil their roles effectively
Staff wellbeing and workload are prioritised
Parents and carers are overwhelmingly positive about the school
Leadership at all levels ensures that pupils continue to flourish academically and socially.
