TASS Play Leaders

DSCN0155TASS Play Leaders are an amazing group of children who, alongside our wonderful lunch time staff,  take care of dinner time play ensuring that everyone is happy, safe & makes the most of this valuable time together.

 

The Y5 Play Leaders have taken part in training with Mrs Granger & Mrs Taylor on how to use the playground markings & facilitate other children in play.

They also keep the shed & playtime equipment ordered & tidy, make sure that everyone has some to play with & encourage other children to take part in organised games.

 

The children volunteer their services for one play time a week at the beginning of each term, they receive training from Mrs Taylor & get to wear a special T-shirt to make them stand out.   We have a total of six children on duty at any one lunchtime.

 

Their role is extremely valuable & we find that they develop wonderful skills of leadership, organisation, communication  & an ability to promote confidence & self esteem in others. The children meet every half term with Mrs Taylor & get to discuss the positives & negatives of things that have happened during the week. 

 

At TASS, we value play & know that our children benefit greatly from their interactions with each other!
