As well as our presentations of art work, poetry & prayers at the church services at All Saints (Harvest, Christmas & Easter), the children also perform a Nativity Show in the infants & some form of Christmas performance (juniors). The results are always sensational!
We also have an annual visit from a group of live musicians from the Sheffield Music Hub – they always inspire our children!
During the summer term, the whole school takes part in a grand production involving acting, singing & musical items. This year we performed Ye-ah! & have also performed: ‘Pirates of the Curry Bean’, ‘Robin & The Sherwood Hoodies’, ‘Shakespeare Rocks’ (to celebrate the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death) & ‘A Big Green Adventure’ which fitted with our eco-school theme.
The previous year , the whole school put on a performance of ‘On Your Bike!’ which was a medley of dance, acting & live music all produced by our children. On most occasions, the summer show has been held at King Ecgbert’s, our main feeder school, although we now have our own stage & hold the performances in our own hall.
The children have many opportunities for music in our school, & experience fantastic music lessons as part of our curriculum, including a whole class lesson each week for Y5 of every child playing the cornet! This is, as you can imagine, very noisy, but well worth it!
Parents can also opt for their children to receive peripatetic individual & group tuition for woodwind instruments, guitar & the piano.
We also have fantastic school clubs such as the choir to get involved with!
