At Totley All Saints, we want our children to develop a good understanding of money & how to use it sensibly & ethically. As a result, we have been involved in the Ecunite Enterprise Project with YMCA White Rose & children of all ages throughout school regularly plan their own charity events to raise money for the causes that they want to.
We have also had a group from the Royal Bank of Scotland visit us to deliver workshops on ‘Money Sense’, which was created by experts to help children have a better financial future. It covers key moments in a young person’s life & gives the use of money a real life context, for example: beginning to save pocket money, opening a bank account & getting a first mobile phone. As such, children were introduced to videos & web resources whilst also interacting with the children in their classes to talk about money in real life scenarios. Nick Clegg, MP for Sheffield Hallam, also visited to see what was happening!
