Out of School Learning

Year 4

Dear parents & carers,

As you are aware, Sheffield schools are closed again due to the Coronavirus (COVID- 19). We want to minimise the impact this will have on your child’s learning so Online learning sessions will be via Zoom every day. A timetable &  the activities and resources set by Mrs Fenton that are needed for the following week, will be posted here on Fridays.

There is a bank of ideas below to help your child to continue learning and consolidating their understanding whilst they are away from school.

Children may well be using the internet more than usual at the moment so it is a good time to emphasise how to keep safe online. CEOP have produced lots of great resources which can be accessed at:

Woodland Workshop

  • Practice previously learnt spellings and put each into a sentence
  • Read lots of books
  • Write book reviews
  • Write word banks and find out the meanings of new words
  • Use a word of the day and see how many times you can use it accurately in a sentence
  • Practice times tables up to 12 x 12
  • Make up songs for each of the times tables
  • Practice number facts to 100
  • Create your own five part story adventure story
  • Make your own game and write instruction for how to play it
  • Research and write a biography about your favorite author/sports person/courageous advocate (think back to Mary Anning learning)
