Out of School Learning
Year 1
Dear parents & carers,
As you are aware, Sheffield schools are closed again due to the Coronavirus (COVID- 19). We want to minimise the impact this will have on your child’s learning so Online learning sessions will be via Zoom every day. A timetable & the activities and resources set by Miss Cupitt that are needed for the following week, will be posted here on Fridays.
There is a bank of ideas below to help your child to continue learning and consolidating their understanding whilst they are away from school.
Children may well be using the internet more than usual at the moment so it is a good time to emphasise how to keep safe online. CEOP have produced lots of great resources which can be accessed at:

Some activities that your children could be doing:
- Practice previously learnt spellings and put each into a sentence
- Read lots of books (they don’t have to be from school)
- Write book reviews
- Practice number bonds (Top Marks Hit the Button https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/hit-the-button
- Create your own story (adapt a story like we did with The Night Pirates)
- Create your own traditional fairytale
- Make your own game and write instruction for how to play it
- Make up songs for each of the times tables (2s and 5s)
