At Totley All Saints we are highly committed to being a Healthy School & have many policies in place to help our children understand how to live a healthy lifestyle.
Health Education features highly in our Sports & PE curriculum, in our Sex & Relationships Education programme, in Science as well as in assemblies and special events throughout the year.
At TASS, we recognise that physical activity is a way to maintain good health & a healthy weight. We know that what we eat is crucial and impacts on our ability to be at a healthy weight. If we are not at a healthy weight, this will impact on our quality of life and our ability to prevent age related diseases such as diabetes and heart problems.
We have a duty to teach our children to eat and ultimately to cook healthily to achieve a balanced diet. Cooking is taught through many topics within the curriculum.
The TASS Healthy Snack Shack runs daily and run by our Y6 TASS Healthy Snack Shack Leaders. Children can buy a whole host of healthy treats & our Infant children receive free fruit daily as a snack.
All of our children are taught that only healthy snacks are allowed at break time & special rules apply to bringing in a packed lunch from home.
Daily Milk can be ordered termly once a child reaches the age of 5.
Healthy School Meals – Taylor Shaw provide excellent healthy school lunches & always includes extras in the form of extra vegetables or a selection of yoghurts, fruit & salad from the salad bar.
