One of the important aspects of the learning we endeavour to develop within the children at Totley All Saints, is the contribution they can make to the school, local, national and international community. In this way, we enable our children to put into practice our Christian ethos.
As a result, a variety of events for fundraising are arranged at the school, often instigated by the children themselves. In the school, the children can contribute by being elected members of the School Council, Merit Captains, Eco-Saints, Healthy Snack Shack Leaders, Play Leaders – as well as children having a variety of roles and responsibilities within their classroom.
Within the local community, our children regularly do fundraising for others through their work on the YMCA White Rose Enterprise Project & regularly hold their own charity events. These are completely decided upon & organised by the children themselves. Additionally, they give annually to the Sheffield Cathedral Archer Project Food Bank as part of our Harvest Thanksgiving Service.
We have also taken part in the Tree Festival, Totley Fair, Tea & Tunes, bulb planting, Praise in the Park, Harvest collections & hampers as well as Christmas caroling for the elderly.
We also have a strong tie to our local church, All Saints, Totley which we visit at least three times a year for our Harvest, Christmas & Easter services.
We also have other Church visitors to the school, including: Rev Louise (Totley Rise Methodist Church) Saints Alive Puppet Show (All Saints, Woodseats) & Mike Warren (Christian Bikers’ Association), Open the Book team & Messy Church team.
Nationally and internationally the children also support Children in Need, Comic Relief & Operation Christmas Child.
